Since all four musicians were born – and live today – in the Faroes, it is not surprising that the special atmosphere of these beautiful, small, mountainous islands, surrounded by the North Atlantic, pervades this album. Dam, Blak and Jacobsen are a tight group, having played together for years in many different contexts. Here, they are joined by trumpetist Ólavur Olsen, whose classical training and experience in playing jazz, rock and pop enable him to bring new facets and colours to Jacobsen’s melodic compositions.
