I consider myself very fortunate to have had the opportunity to organize this project. I first heard about Deborah Herbert through Róin Siggertsson who had heard her sing at a jam session. I called her right away, and after she sang for me on the phone, I decided that I wanted her to be a part of this project. When I arrived in Denmark, I had no idea which other musicians were going to join me in making this recording. I called Kim Enk Zorde, a musician with whom I have played in the past, asking him for suggestions for a bass player. He led me to Mogens Palsbøll. After that I called Leivur Thomsen, with whom I had recently worked and knew quite well.
The only thing that we had agreed on before we started to play was that we were going to jam. All the music was created as we recorded; the first note struck laid the foundation for each track. At first, this recording was only supposed to be a demo; but once we started playing, we had soon recorded an entire album. Thanks to the talents of the musicians and sound engineers, it took us only three hours to record all eight tracks. Mixing the album was a real pleasure for me. I was able to experience for a second time this music that was the result of our improvisations in the studio. The facilities at Sasquash Productions were excellent. It is definitely a place with a lot of soul.
